Megan Weiss
Registered Psychotherapist & Founder
I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Lean On Me Therapy. For over nine years, I've supported clients through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and the moments when life simply feels heavier than usual.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I believe that feeling comfortable and genuinely understood by your therapist is an important part of meaningful change. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, so I tailor our work together to your individual needs, experiences, and goals.
A special interest in perinatal mental health
I have a particular interest in supporting individuals and couples through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood. These experiences can bring enormous love and joy, but they can also bring anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, anger, guilt, grief, identity changes, relationship challenges, and feelings that can be difficult to talk about.
With training in Maternal Mental Health and Infant Mental Health, I provide a space where you can be honest about both the beautiful and difficult parts of this transition without judgment.
You don't need to be in crisis to reach out. Sometimes you simply need somewhere to feel heard, understand what you're experiencing, and find ways to feel more like yourself again.
My training & approach
I earned my Master's in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and my Bachelor's in Sociology from Queen's University, as well as a certificate in Autism & Behavioural Science from Algonquin College.
My training includes Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Maternal Mental Health, Infant Mental Health, Gottman Method for Treating Affairs and Trauma, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, and Harm Reduction.
I work primarily with anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, relationship challenges, burnout, parenting, and major life transitions. I also have experience supporting individuals with ADHD, OCD, and autism.
Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a space where you don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
Hi, I’m Megan
A little about me
Outside of the therapy room, I’m also a mom, which has given me an even greater appreciation for how meaningful, complex, and challenging parenthood can be. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and cat, travelling, getting outside, and finding a good coffee spot.
Featured in the Media
I occasionally contribute to conversations about mental health and relationships in the media, sharing practical and accessible information on topics that affect individuals, couples, and families.
CBCListen Live Radio
I joined Just Asking with Saroja Coelho on CBC Radio to discuss listeners' questions about mental health during the early months and years of parenthood, including postpartum mental health.
